Monthly Challenge Buttons

Our monthly challenge was finally discussed and buttons is the item for this month! So expect to see a lot of these little beauties on LOs coming soon!

I Loved Her First

Sometimes, when I know what I want to do with a LO, I don't̕ have the tools! I always love going to crop because you have an ʼextendedʼsupplyʼat your fingertips! I wanted to crimp or disress this paper. As some point I remembered a tutorial on Splitcoast about how to roll up your edges. I thought that would be a fair compromise. This technique looks cool at the corner of your page, surrounding a photo as a frame or around you journaling. Anyways I went about that and it helped me complete the page. I am going to sit with it for a while as I may have to extend the curls farther along the page. This page meets Practical Scrappers challenge to use die cuts.

Parksville Castles

I just checked out Practical Scrappers and saw how on one of the DT LOs they used a paper border of striped paper. Well I believe it took me oh, 2 hours of being home before I had to scraplift it! I kept in mind that Practical Scrappers challenge is to use your Die-cuts this week -so I pulled out my Top-note and found yet another way to use it! I LOVE that die just as much as I love going to Parksville every year to check out the amazing sand castles /sand sculptures they have a sculpting competition every year. I also challenged myself to pull out my new Magpie kit. It is Januaryʼs kit, however because I only visit my house every few weeks I went down on the 23rd and it was there!! Although I was super stoked to get into it, I needed to finish up the projects I had in mind before I came into the kit!!

Happy Trails

I know I try to capture events, but when you bring a camera for a 45min logging trail and then leave it in the truck for the hike.....it doesn't̕ do anyone any good. Because I am slightly attached to my cellphone however, I opted to take photos of the gorgeius day with it. San Jose seriously rivals the beauty of Tofino and seems (?) to have a lot more sunny days. The 45 min walk in was wonderful however apparently there is this other beach. Well that other beach was on a crazy overgown trail with falling apart ladders and rope pulls. It was great! I definately plan to return there as it was a great day all around.

Journaling ~ While living in Port Hardy, my dad came up to visit. Because the power was scheduled to go out, we decided to go up tp San Jose Bay with the Boycos January 2010

have fur will travel

  When Brent and Pudley came to visit, Brent was sick so he spent a lot of time on the couch. Rather than fight for the couch or go sleep on the fluffy bed in the other room Pudster opted to sleep in the suitcase, by the couch. He was hilarious and every time he circled to get comfy in Brent's clothes, it had me in a fit of giggles.

Good times:: Guarenteed

I just realized that it is the last day of January! Based on my goals for the month I should have 10 Christmas cards completed and 30 LOs. At this point I have 27 LOs and 8 X mas cards. We will see what tonight brings but I have a feeling I will only meet 1 of those goals! This double LO was created in a stack class at a class in Nanaimo. I may use a few more of these tonight to complete my challenge! I also need to mention that my HP Photosmart A636 printer creates collages and I rediscovered that today!! The photo spreads on this page were printed thanks to this feature.

Journaling ~
Because we were away in Las Vegas we missed a lot of X mas festvities. So when we got back we had a part of our own December 30th, with the hot-tub to boot - too fun!
