Detox Day 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10

So back to work creates chaos in my plans. I am not going to lie working brought on skipped lunches, missed pills and serious cravings. But I am prevailing and looking forward to Sunday and Monday of my long weekend when I am off the cleanse.
One tip I will say about the Cookbook from Corilee Fox, it makes a lot of food. So if you are solo on this detox and the people or person you live with may not eat it, halve the recipes!!
Here has been my food plan for these days.

Day 6
Breakfast : 2 eggs omelet style with 1/2 cup of shallots and yellow peppers
Snack : 1 cup of cucumber
Lunch : 2 cups of corn chowder ( cookbook)
Snack : almonds
Dinner : 1/2 cup of moose meat cooked taco style with my own herbs and 2 cups of lettuce, peppers, tomatoes and onions to top it off

Day 7
Breakfast : 1 cup of millet, 1/2 cups of blueberries and almond milk & 3 teaspoons of hemp hearts. I find the hemp hearts help to keep you full for the morning.
Snack : almonds
Lunch : skipped it .... :(
Dinner : 2 cups of corn chowder (cookbook)

Day 8
Breakfast : 2 cups of oatmeal and a peach
Snack : almonds
Lunch : beet salad (cookbook)
Dinner : 1 cup of smoked salmon and 1/2 cup of blueberries

Day 9
Breakfast : 1 cup of millet, strawberries and almond milk with 3 teaspoons of hemp hearts
Snack : almonds
Lunch : skipped .... :( worst thing is I had a lunch in the fridge
Snack : 1 cup of strawberries
Dinner : moose burger pattie with lettuce, tomato and onion
** total and accidental cheat, I ate it with mustard and ketchup on it. At the making station I just went on auto and until I bit into it I didn't even think about it YIKEs but hey one slip in 9 days is ok, I only have 3 more to go!

Day 10
Breakfast : smoothie with 1 cup of frozen fruit, 1 cup of almond milk and 1/2 cup of juice - it was ok but I need to get some tofu if I want to make more because with tofu was way better.
Snack : almonds
Lunch : corn chowder
Snack : strawberries
Dinner : popcorn with butter and a pear

Writing all of this I want to defend my huge fruit eating preference. The detox says a little fruit may be taken in, I don't know if a little is 1 -2 cups a day but it is less than I usually consume and I am making an attempt today more veggies. On top of all that I did buy way too much fruit when I went shopping so short of canning it, I am eating it strategically.

Detox Day 3, 4 & 5

So its Day 5 now and so far I am going strong. Tonight will be a challenge because we are going to a bb,q but my appetizer will be hummus and vegetables so at least I will have that to snack on. Yesterday I was definitely fighting the cravings I could smell pizza, cookies etc... but I goth thru by eating some almonds and having some herbal tea. I am also feeling sluggish today. I have kept up my exercising routine, but I may need to slow down for a bit so I don't feel so drained. In addition to the detox I am also going back to work on Monday (Day 7) so that will be an exciting challenge in its self. I have not left a lot of food in my cupboard there over the summer, but when I go on Monday I am going to load the fridge up with veggies, the cupboard up with nuts and tea and the freezer up with detox friendly options.
I left a food plan for Day 3 on here but, alas life happened and we went out for dinner. So here is what actually happened.

Day 3
Breakfast : 1 cup of oatmeal, 1 cup of strawberries & 3t of hemp hearts
Snack : apple
Lunch : Mexican Rice
Supper : Salad with mixed leafs, carrot, cucumber & pepper
Snack : Popcorn with butter

Day 4
Breakfast : 1 cup of puffed millet, 1 cup of blueberries, 1 cup of almond milk & 3t of hemp hearts ( probably cut down on berries )
Snack : apple
Lunch : Salad : Lettuce, tomatoes, and green peppers ( Dresssing - oil, lemon juice 7 herbs )
Snack : Rice crisps & blueberries
Supper : Mexican dinner (note if you have never have this, you may want to 1/2 the recipe because it makes a lot!! )

Day 5
Breakfast : 1 cup of millet, 1/2 cup of blueberries, 1 cup of almond milk & 3t of hemp hearts
Lunch : 1 cup of canned salmon
Snack 1/2 cup of Almonds:

Detox day 2 & grocery list

Alright so I want to backtrack a bit and write up my cupboards contents / grocery list to help people realize that there are LOTS of food choices. Your diet is suppose to be 20% protien foods-acid forming foods (restricted to what's on the list) and 80% starch foods-alkaline foods and bulk forming foods-neutral foods.

Protien list currently in my home : beans, beef, eggs, oats, nuts (cashews, pecans etc) oatmeal, peas, poultry, pork, prunes, white rice, seeds ( hemp hearts, flax, sunflower etc), tofu, and importantly salmon, (super food which can go over and above the 20%) there is also coffee, lamb, lentils, liver, rhubarb, soy beans, veal and wheat germ that are acceptable however I do not own them.

Starch foods and bulk forming foods in my home : apples, almond milk, berries (strawberries, blueberries) lemons, peaches, popcorn, potatoes, squash, totatoes, beets, butter, carrots, corn, cucumbers, herbs, kale, lettuce, oils, peas, peppers, and again chives, garlic, ginger, onions, herbal tea, millet, almonds and brown rice that are most recommended. There is also buckwheat, quinoa, apricots, cherries, pears, plums, nectarines, yams, pumpkin, sesame seeds, tahini, arugula, artichokes, asparagus, avocado, bok choy, broccoli, brussel sproats, cabbage, cauliflower, collards, chards, dandelion, eggplant, endive, escarole, kohlrabi, mustard seeds, okra, parsley, parsnips, peppermint, radiccio, radishes, rutabagas, seaweeds, sorrel, spinach, sproats, turnips, and water crest that are currently not in my kitchen.

Basically I wanted to type up these lists for myself and anyone else who worries about what they are going to eat for the 12 days they are detoxing. And give tips on what's working for me!

Day one meal plan

Breakfast : 1 cup of oatmeal with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and an apple sliced on top
Lunch : 1 cup of nuts with at least half almonds ( I was driving so not a huge lunch)
Snack : 1 1/2 cups of puffed millet, 1 cup of almond milk and 1/2 cup of blueberries ( totally going to be breakfast in the near future)
Supper : 1 fillet of salmon and 1 cup of raw carrots.

Day two meal plan

Breakfast : shake with 1/2 cup each of tofu, almond milk, blueberries and mango juice and 2 T of hemp hearts blended
Lunch : Mexican rice dish from the recipe book I am using ( left overs for the coming days)
Snack : hummus and 1 cup of cucumber
Dinner : moose stew with 2 cups of potatoes, 1 cup of onion, 3 cloves of garlic, 3 diced tomatoes with some spices ( leftovers for freezing)

Day three meal plan
Breakfast : 1 cup of oatmeal with 1 cup of strawberries
Lunch : leftover Mexican rice or stew
Dinner : Veggie spagetti from the recipe book ( honestly it's cooked spagetti squash with butter, garli, salt and pepper )

I have only planned ahead as far as tomorrow, but I have a lot of detox friendly food around the house. I am excited for this journey and hope you keep with me on my experience.

Wild Rose Detox

2010 was a rough year, in fact if I am honest with myself it sucked. Now the kids in my classroom would tell you "The only thing that sucks in the school is the vacuum cleaner", thanks to my coaching however I cannot think of a better adjective for it. In 2010 I lost my father in law, got separated from my husband, dated a stalker, moved to distance myself from the stalker and rolled my car down a hill several times. Thankfully in the same year, my parents moved 16 hours closer to my current town, I had a great class, and last but the most astounding I started dating an amazing man. So now that I have mentally recovered, physically recovered, (I can walk!) and had a very great restful summer I feel like it is time to cleanse my body.

I have chosen to use the Wild Rose Detox, as recommended by my friend who is a nutritionalist. It has herbal pills and liquid taken with breakfast and dinner as well as a strict diet. I went grocery shopping today and loaded up my house with detox friendly food. I will post my grocery list in another post, just to give you an idea of what you can eat. A short and sweet list of the food you cannot eat sugar, wheat and dairy. In addition to grocery shopping I also bought an online recipe book for the detox. I think it will help because although I like a lot of the food I am not quite sure what to do with it all together. So I hope you enjoy reading my journey and perhaps even pick up some tips for your own journey.

Your Friendship makes my heart happy.

This card is another from the create a card swap. This one had a photo and a how to step by step. I truly enjoyed this one and only altered it by adding pearls to each corner because the card creator sent extra. I have to give credit where credit is due, the scrapper is Splitcoast Stampers Missprim53.

Grow

Well, I had a crazy buzy summer that was not conducive to hobbies. So as my life unfolded there was no time for scrapbooking. Recently I moved so I got to reorganize all of my supplies, which made me want to get back in there but I was overwhelmed with where to start. So I decided to tackle the half completed project drawer. This card was from a swap. You were sent all of the supplies to create a card (of course I added some!) Slowly I will get back in there with the usual enthusiasm, however that may take a while as school begins pretty quick.

(10 things) that I love about you

Whenever I open up these albums to choose a new photo, I love looking at the Dreyer family line and seeing my brother and myself in them. I dont̕ know exactly what features we have inherited; eyes, smiles, noses but we definately are part of the line. I love this picture because I can see my brother, myself and grandmother - all in this photo of mom. I did deticate the journaling to my mom, as she is the source of the genes and inspiration. With the exception of the Kraft paper everything on this page (weird) came from my February Magpie kit.(Nevermind I added ribbon =) I think after 1 more page I will have to disassemble that kit, as it has been well used.

Five :: back to basics

Sometimes we get overloaded with all of the ʼstuffʼin our collection. Everyone has their methods to combat this overwhelming notion, I go back to basics. What did I to use 10 years ago? Punches, stickers, markers and paper - oh dont̕ forget the photos! So going back to my essentials, here is the LO. Clean & focused on the pictures with a few accents that go a long way. I had to work not to use patterned paper, but I wanted to step out of my box (98% of my layouts use prints- nice but not essential.) Its a different take on my personal style, but it still screams me!

Recipe
Bazzil ~ turquise & black cardstock
Making Memories ~ Die-cut Eyelet I Do
Scenic Route ~ GardenGrove ʼLucky Starsʼcardstock stickers
Stampin Up ~ designer hardware ʼbasic jumbo grommetsʼ
